Field Service Project Manager

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently carry out the technical, administrative and commercial planning and scheduling of new installations, maintenance and service activities on Turbo machinery equipment for Field Service personnel.
  • Calculate and issue quotations for new installation and commissioning.
  • Abide by company safety and compliance policies and ensure that other project managers in the department to abide by these policies as well.
  • Indemnification of the Claim Management with respect to new installation and commissioning.
  • Draw up the specifications for any needed site subcontractors for installation/commissioning personnel
  • Evaluation of subcontractors quotation and select qualified subcontractors for Field Service work all in collusion with the Field Service pool
  • Coordination & communication among all parties involved in the field service activities. Arrange and lead the kick-off/pre-installation meeting as well as follow up site inspections.
  • Arrange, review and compile all the necessary documentation and work instructions for the Field Service staff to complete planned activities safely, including Risk Assessments and HSE assessments.
  • Arrange with Global Organization MAN-ES Pools for Field Service staff exchange.
  • Arrange for the necessary consumables, tooling, lifting and other needed equipment.
  • Arrange and perform the briefing and the de-briefing meetings with the delegated Field Service personnel.
  • Technical & administrative Support of the Field Service personnel during their site assignments.
  • Ensure that all work done in the field is clearly reported and documented.
  • Cost control and financial completion for each Field Service project.
  • Complete Field Service Quality documentation as required by the MAN Turbo quality systems
  • Regular reporting in writing to the management of all activities, commercial, technical and personnel issues.
  • Installation and implementation of HSE standards.
  • Participate in periodic toolbox, HSE, environment, quality and safety meetings.
  • Flexibility to work longer hours, weekends, etc. to meet with customers scheduling requirements.
  • Work requires willingness to travel.

 

Required Education: Graduate from Apprentice training or Bachelor of Science (BS) with a technical major, preferably mechanical engineering.

Required Experience:

  • At least 5 years practical experience on rotating equipment (steam turbines, turbo compressors, and expanders), preferably MAN-ES rotating equipment
  • Knowledge of local technical standards and directives
  • Familiarity & knowledge of turbomachinery
  • Excellent knowledge of Rotating Equipment (steam turbines, compressors and expanders)
  • Experience in reading drawings, technical documents, instructions, sketches/explanation of details and cross sectional drawings.

 

 

Desired Experience:

  • Certified Project/contract Manager or similar training
  • Experience in quality assurance
