Bru Bar Bartender

The Bru Bartender is responsible for promoting drink consumption by educating customers; selling various drinks, accessories, and supplies; preparing and serving a variety of drinks, along with pastries and cookies. The Bru Bar also serves a variety of beer, wine, and liquor as well as coffee.

  • Welcomes customers by determining their food and drink interests and needs.
  • Educates customers by presenting and explaining the drink menu; answering questions.
  • Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Bru’s standard drink recipes.
  • Generates revenues by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products.
  • Maintains cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Enhances Bru Bar reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Physical & Other Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
  • Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration.
  • Non-smoking candidates preferred.
  • Minimum age requirement is 18.
