Starting Salary: $130,000 - 160,000/annual

Position Summary Description:

Plans, directs and coordinates all accounting and treasury functions. Responsible for internal and external financial statements, including budget variance analyses and monthly review with Management. Manages relationships with banks, auditors, and external tax accountants. Responsible for Finance department annual action plan and 90 day priorities. Performs financial modeling and analysis and provides management with information vital to decision making process. Responsible for evaluating accounting and internal control systems and hiring, training, and retaining competent accounting staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates preparation of annual Finance department action plan and 90 day priorities, and monitors to ensure completion.

  2. Performs or reviews pro forma and other financial analyses to assist Management with strategic and other major business decisions.

  3. Performs or reviews ROI calculations for all capital expenditure proposals.

  4. Reviews the weekly Flash financial report, corporate and department KPI scorecard reports, and the monthly Sales/GP and Operating Expense budget/actual variance reports, and meets monthly with Management to identify opportunities for improvement.

  5. Coordinates preparation of the annual budget.

  6. Evaluates, recommends improvements, and establishes procedures and internal control systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.

  7. Coordinates completion of a timely and accurate monthly close of the company general ledger and preparation of internal financial statements.

  8. Plans and coordinates activities of external accountants, including the annual audit and tax returns.

  9. Directs and monitors the accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.

  10. Directs and monitors treasury functions including cash flow planning and banking/lender relationships, and risk management and insurance requirements.

  11. Performs all other related duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.

  12. Uses the Company’s Mission/Vision Statements and Core Values as their guiding principle

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; developing and coaching employees, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Direct reports include: Controller, Internal Finance Consultant

Qualifications:

Education/Training and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent is required.
  • CPA license is required.
  • Minimum of five years of CPA firm and/or industry accounting experience.
  • Experience in the wholesale distribution or restaurant industry is preferred.
