Our PIP Claims team is currently seeking a PIP Regional General Adjuster.

 

This is a remote Full Time/Exempt role.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW: 
Responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of claims which are complex in coverage and exposures. The claims may require field consultation, and this position provides a high level of technical expertise to others.


IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Handle Claims that are transferred existing losses or first notice lawsuits over disputed issues which require a high level of investigation, analysis, evaluation and negotiation
  • Maintain a keen foresight into claims depth to accurately adjust reserves based on new information over the cycle time of an exposure around Michigan PIP and Litigation
  • Negotiate settlements, mitigate losses, and control expenses on our Company’s largest claims. Requires experience in working with MCCA and MACP
  • Works with high authority limits on assignments reflecting a very high degree of technical complexity and coordination
  • Develop timely discovery, trial and settlement resolution strategies in conjunction with defense counsel
  • Attend trial, facilitations, settlement conferences and arbitration
  • Act as a technical resource and informal mentor for adjusters in the region

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Typically has 5 – 8 years’ experience
  • Technical depth around Michigan PIP and Litigation   
  • Possess strong customer service skills
  • Makes decisions in an informed, confident and timely manner
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to negotiate skillfully in difficult situations with both internal and external groups
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Appropriate understanding of applicable Statutes, Regulations and Case Law
  • Thinks critically, anticipates, recognizes, identifies and develops solutions to problems in a timely manner
  • Operates with latitude for un-reviewed action or decisions
  • Computer experience (MS Office, Excel, Word, etc)
  • Proficient using a paperless Claims System
