 Job Summary

The Employee Assistance Counselor provides support and guidance to employees of Cleveland Christian Home. The Employee Assistance Counselor will work directly with employees understanding challenges and barriers; provide post crisis support; lead resiliency groups; offer individual counseling and support to employees with diverse backgrounds.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis stress support to all employees and lead the team in post-crisis debriefings.
  • Counsel employees while providing helpful strategies for understanding and healing.
  • Create an open and inviting environment, reflecting diverse life experiences, free of judgment.
  • Develops workshops on wellness, positive coping skills, and resiliency for employees.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to create groups and opportunities for employees to maintain workplace resilience and increase mental and emotional fitness.
  • Assess employee morale and give recommendations to leadership to improve morale.

Job Qualifications

  • Master of Divinity from an accredited seminary or university
  • Experience in direct ministry and/or counseling.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Experience working in a clinical setting with those experiencing illness, trauma, and disability.
  • Ability to respect and embrace the unique perspectives and experiences of others.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

This job operates in a residential childcare environment, which includes crisis intervention, and de-escalation. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. Travel and work outside of normal hours may be required for meetings, presentations, trainings, and other events.
