Position Summary: The Quality Control Technician monitors production processes to ensure products are within food safety quality standards.

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Shift: 5 am -2 pm

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00

 

Responsibilities:

  • Produce and maintain accurate records regarding product/processes according to HACCP and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) directives
  • Monitor current procedures to assure compliance to specifications, reporting any findings to the QA Supervisor 
  • Perform technical operations such as monitoring product temperatures, conducting sanitation inspections, taking and/or shipping samples, examining/analyzing product, recording results and taking appropriate corrective action. 
  • Ensure equipment follows established SSOPs, regulations, and maintenance/calibration procedures. 
  • Assist QA supervisor with direct training of food safety and safety topics to employees, ensuring employees adhere to safety and quality regulations.
  • Perform quality control checks such as correct packaging and weight
  • Place non-conforming product or unsanitary processing equipment on HOLD
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma and/ or Relevant work experience (USDA/FDA experience a plus)
  • Must be able to stand/be active throughout the workday in a cold environment 
  • Must possess a high attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Self-motivated with the ability to quickly adapt to different production changes
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, working collaboratively with production staff to ensure product is manufactured according to standards
  • Time management with the ability to work with minimal supervision 
  • Ability to operate a car and maintain valid driver’s license
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
