SUMMARY 

A Summer Camp Counselor is responsible for providing the greatest experience to our guests through safety and positivity. They  will ensure that all equipment is safe and clean for each guest. They will be responsible for ensuing all policies and procedures are observed. They will also be responsible for maintaining and facilitating all aspects of summer camp programming.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsibly manage a group of children while performing outdoor activities.
  • Establish professional and personalized relationships with guests and staff.
  • Work with and maintain positive relationships with other departments.
  • Complete proper training on safe operating of all equipment for guests and employees.
  • Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
  • Follow all summer camp policies and procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Work weekends and holidays
  • CPR / First Aid / AED Certification
  • Physically able to complete all activities while also managing campers.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Requires possession of valid Driver License with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by the resort insurance carrier.  Must have own reliable mode of transportation.
