SUMMARY  

Axe Throwing guide give guests a safety orientation, show axe throwing techniques, explain rules of axe throwing and maintain axe throwing arena.  Axe Throwing guides will also staff the Guided Services desk and book guided experiences.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned, including weekend work.

 

  • All elements of the Axe Throwing arena will be visually inspected for damage or defects prior to guest arrival.
  • Maintain Axe Throwing arena and replace Axe Throwing target boards as needed.
  • Responsible for guest safety orientation.  Explain rules and different games of Axe Throwing.
  • Show Axe Throwing technique to guests prior to allowing guests to throw axes.
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests, property owners, homeowners and fellow employees.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Staff Guided Services desk and book guided experiences.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Requires knowledge of computer hardware, word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software, prefer experience with Microsoft Office.  Requires knowledge of business letter writing and business forms; office procedures, business English, including vocabulary, correct grammatical usage and punctuation, filing systems; and common office machines and their operation.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous work experience in the outdoors and/or recreation preferred
  • Previous experience with guest service

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Requires possession of a valid Driver’s License with a driving record that meets the standards required by Tamarack Food & Beverage

  • Current CPR/1st Aid Certified

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Fluent in English

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to throw axes at targets from 12 feet distance.
  • Frequent bending, climbing, kneeling squatting, twisting/turning from waist and pushing/pulling objects.
  • Will be working with hands and fingers, lifting and moving objects up to 40 pounds horizontally and vertically on a regular basis.
  • Near and far vision as well as good depth perception and color vision are important. Frequent use of senses.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Able to work in fluctuating temperatures
