About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity to support our APAC team as a Marketing Manager – Product Innovation based in Seoul, South Korea. The Marketing Manager – Product Innovation supports the team with playing a key role to develop and implement product and innovation strategies for the South Korea market, in line with Regional and Global strategy and guidelines.

Under the direction of the South Korea Marketing Director and working closely with the Asia Pacific Head of Culinary and Innovation; and the broader South Korea marketing team, they will manage all aspects of product innovation strategy including (i) analyzing trends in the South Korea market, (ii) identifying innovative platforms and products to drive Subway’s menu and brand transformation objectives, (ii) driving product improvement through technical R&D initiatives with suppliers, IPCA and external chefs and (iv) managing the NPD Stage Gate process to validate and commercialize product innovation initiatives. They will work closely with IPCA to ensure timely delivery of products and ingredients from the

warehouse.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Product and Innovation Strategy Planning:

  • Conduct market analysis and gather guest feedback to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Lead the ideation and development of new products aligned with business goals and guest needs.
  • Lead commercial strategy including COGS management, pricing to maximize sales and profitability.

 

Product and Innovation Strategy Commercialization and Execution: 

  • Lead NPD Stage Gate process, working closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, IT, Supply Chain and FSQA to ensure successful launch.
  • Analyze sales performance, guest feedback, and market trends to evaluate the success of product launch.
  • Lead innovation of existing products to meet market trends and guest needs.
  • Optimize menu architecture to maximize sales and profitability
  • Partner with IPCA to develop financials to support concept profitability (pre-market, short- and medium-term food costs) and Operations/Training to effectively manage new product launch process in Subway restaurants.
  • Support FSQA and IPCA to develop, coordinate and execute ingredient sourcing strategy based on analysis of trade and local constraints e.g. supplier capability, logistics and distribution

 

Qualifications (some examples listed below):

  • Bachelor's of Degree (Preferred) in Marketing, Business Management Specialization
  • Minimum of 2-6 years’ experience in a within Restaurant, QSR, Food Ingredients (Meats and Dairy) or FMCG Food companies, with a substantial portion of time spent in innovation and product strategy development and execution
  • Technical Proficiencies: Microsoft Office Suite programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize workload and comfortable working within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, detail oriented
  • Interpersonal, relationship-building and networking skills with a self-motivated attitude to work.
  • Language requirements: Fluent in English & Korean – any additional language a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (local & region) when required
