We are a seeking a full-time Treating Operator to join our team in Bangor, WI. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, collecting and entering data into trackers, and problem-solving skills.  We offer on the job training for the right candidate.  

POSITION OVERVIEW: Performs operational work related to daily work instructions, inspection, grading, treatment and materials.  Operates the treating plant safely and proficiently.

Shift Details: 12 hour shifts on 2nd from 6pm - 6am
Schedule Details: Rotating  weekly schedule w/every other Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off

Principal Responsibilities: 

  • Processes material through treatment by counting material to be treating into charges, enters information into computer system, select treating cycle, and begins treatment.
  • Drills each charge to check for penetration of preservative, retention of preservative, and judges samples against set standards.
  • Records test results, maintains ledger withs ample/test information.
  • Posts each charge into computer inventory database system.
  • Monitors efficiency of treating schedules.
  • Checks solution in work tanks once per shift, collect samples, and runs tests.
  • Logs solution test results into ledger and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Works in coordination with plant manager to track treating recipes, expenses, and any adjustments that need to be made in the treating process.
  • Maintains housekeeping in work area.
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems and/or breakdowns.
  • Assist in picking up and stacking lumber and other materials as needed.
  • Perform all duties of inspector, machine operator (2) and laborer positions as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of customer specifications.
  • Performs security duties.
  • Participates and contributes to company safety program.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: 
  • License/Certification: Pesticide applicators license preferred; Boiler Operating License preferred, PIE Certified

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Maintain plant safety orientation and training standards.
  • Required to pass state pesticide certification exam w/in 12 months of employment.
  • Respiratory training and pass the medical exam and fit test (clean shaved face may be required).
  • Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of all federal and state regulations, quality control standards, and hazardous waste regulations related to the treating department.
  • Complete all required “Continuous Education Units” to keep pesticide certification.
