Stella-Jones is seeking to add a qualified Maintenance Lead to our Tacoma, WA operations. This position directs and coordinates activities of vendors and workers engaged in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment; and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of industrial plant or other establishment. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 5:30a-4p.
Responsibilities:
- Manages maintenance work requests, determines priority and assigns appropriate resource.
- Ensures team members comply with all safety, environmental and manufacturing practices
- Communicates to production and quality assurance equipment break downs and estimated time need to complete repairs.
- Confers with venders, management and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measure to improve operation and conditions of machine and equipment.
- Documents and reports maintenance work performed and advises of future requirements in a timely manner.
- Inspects, services, repairs and constructs plant processing equipment, including structures, utilities, loaders, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical, and pressure vessel work throughout the plant.
- Perform repairs on electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical problems
- Performs the preventative maintenance program established by the Company.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices - Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment and machinery.
- Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
- Participates and contributes to company safety program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Flexibility – Productivity of the facility is essential so services need to be scheduled to minimize downtime. This is a 24/7/365 facility, overtime and weekend work as needed
- Education – One-year certificate from college or technical school
- One-year related work experience
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with peers
- Experience in hydraulics, electrical, pumps, valves, welding
- Excellent trouble shooting skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge in wood industry preferred
- Ability to read schematics and electrical drawings
- Strong communication skills
