Position Summary:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Human Resources Generalist is accountable for administering and advising on HR programs, policies and procedures and for meeting the Plant’s staffing needs for hourly and salary positions to support business priorities. This role will also carry out administrative work involving the human resources functions including attendance management, WSIB, STD and health and safety paperwork. The position provides guidance and advice to employees and responds to a variety of Human Resources related questions.

 

Job Location: 350 Bell Blvd, Belleville, Ontario

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • In collaboration with Plant Managers and other key stakeholders, develop and implement annual HR plan that addresses key business objectives.
  • Leads the recruitment and selection processes for hourly/salaried employees in accordance with set standards. Including posting the positions, screen applications, interviewing, reference checks, preparation of offer letters, and conducting new hire Orientations.
  • Track, analyze and report on key HR metrics and make recommendations on action, if required.
  • Administers policies and practices, implements corporate-wide and local initiatives. 
  • Proactively manages employee issues by providing forum, etc. that addresses issues and promote positive employee relations.
  • Responsible for inputting personal information into Kronos system and Day Force.
  • Participate in physical inventories
  • Perform special and ad hoc projects as needed

 

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Human Resource Management or equivalent with minimum 3-5 years experience
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in HR functions
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Kronos.
  • Good communication, conflict resolution and analytical skills
  • Comfortable in dealing with ambiguity; promoting ideas, developing plans and execution
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
