Position: Account Manager – Supplements / Nutritional Ingredients

Territory: Central USA

Location: Ideally, this person will be located in Chicago, Illinois or Houston/Dallas, Texas

Status: Full-time Permanent (1)

We are currently seeking an energetic and experienced sales professional to fill the role of Account Manager. This person will be responsible for the Central territory of the United States.

 

Reporting to our Sales Manager, the candidate will be responsible for developing relationships within the territory, as well as the Quadra brand in the United States. We are looking for someone with technical sales experience in the ingredients distribution market, with strong contacts and reputation within the industry. You will be required to travel throughout the assigned region, promoting Quadra's products and services. This includes developing and implementing a team-driven strategic business plan based on a solid understanding of industry trends and customer needs.

 

Our Health and Personal Care group is known for our broad range of high-quality ingredients for the various sectors of the industry. The ideal candidate will bring professional sales experience to maintain and grow a territory, with a strong focus on new business development.

What would be your main responsibilities as an Account Manager? :

  • Developing sales with both new and existing customers in addition to maintaining existing customers in the sales territory
  • Develop and utilize internal and external resources, showcasing Quadra’s reputation for service excellence
  • Cold calling potential customers (prospecting)
  • Qualify key decision makers and their needs
  • Sell Quadra’s superior product line to potential customers through routine customer visits, joint calls and participation in industry events
  • Manage key customer relationships, in line with Quadra’s core values and strategic vision
  • Building and maintaining customer relationships with key decision makers/influencers to obtain repeat and new sales
  • Meet or exceed annual sales and margin objectives
  • Assist with customer troubleshooting and optimization opportunities
  • Bring proven presentation and written communication skills
  • Manage tight timelines and deal with after hour emergencies
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and scheduling
  • Conduct business in an organized and time-efficient manner and allow maximum time for prospect contact and sales opportunity

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business or Commerce
  • 5-8 years of proven experience in the supplement and/or ingredients industry; strong understanding of the features, applications of various supplement ingredients
  • 5+ years of sales experience (B2B) including prospection, negotiation, business development and closing skills
  • Proven ability to establish relationship of trust and identify opportunities, tailor solutions to client needs and effectively communicate value propositions
  • You must have a good network of industry contacts and a strong knowledge of the supplements industry;  market trends, regulations, industry development, etc.
  • Product formulation, chemistry background would be an asset but not required
  • Proven track record of sales growth and customer retention
  • Identified organizational and problem-solving skills during the development, monitoring and conclusion of sales opportunities
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of time, including overnight travel and international travel (Canada & USA)
  • You must have a valid passport and driver’s license
  • Proven ability in achieving sales targets and KPI’s
  • Proven computer skills, experience with a CRM (ideally Salesforce) and with the Microsoft Office suite
