Product Specialist

The Mortgage Product Specialist plays a critical role in the development, management, and optimization of mortgage products offered by the company. They are responsible for analyzing market trends, understanding customer needs, and collaborating with various teams to ensure the successful creation, launch, and maintenance of mortgage products. This role requires a deep understanding of the mortgage industry, regulatory requirements, and product development processes.

Reports to:  Director of Secondary Markets

Location: Remote/ hybrid two days a week if you reside within 30 miles of Boise, Idaho or Portland, Oregon areas

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development and Roll Out
    • Collaborate with Leadership, Secondary, and Product Team to identify and source needed product.
    • Fully Manage all new product roll out
    • Remain abreast to help identify emerging trends, competitor offerings and customer preferences related to mortgage products.
    • Present new ideas, tools and resources to improve the product evolution process
  • Product Maintenance and Enhancement
    • Be the guideline expert
    • Organize, manage and maintain complete guideline resources
    • Continuously evaluate existing mortgage products to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Scenario Desk
    • Effectively respond to product questions with command of the knowledge base
    • Provide timely and detailed communication
    • Specific Focus on Non QM product, Non-conforming product and brokered options as a “deal desk”
      • Support niche product origination by identifying solutions to fix standard product deals that to not meet guidelines
  • Assist sales and marketing in promoting solutions strategies

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Prior experience in Mortgage Industry is required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as Product Manager preferred
  • Prior experience with product development (Mortgage Retail, Mortgage TPO, Mortgage Real Estate Ecosystem, and mortgage LOS programming)
  • Collaborative, friendly, and consistent communication skills are required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
