Summary
Works with a crew under general supervision, responsible for construction and maintenance of City streets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs miscellaneous duties such as working on a crew, inspecting vehicles and equipment
- Follow the City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Assists other crews during inclement weather with various tasks such as trimming trees on City right of ways, making and installing of street signs, putting out traffic counters, checking drains, etc
- Performs other duties as assigned
Specific Assignment Areas
- Crack sealing of streets: Performs tasks to seal cracks on City streets
- Street and traffic signs: Constructs street and traffic signs, installs and/or replaces signs, constructs and paints barricades
- Right of way: Assists with responding to calls received by the Streets Division, Assists crew in the installation and maintenance of pavement markings in the City, in according with TMUTCD, Mows and cleans alley ways and right of ways
- Assist Forestry Crew in the trimming and removal of vegetation in and along City Right of Way
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in road maintenance and/or construction
- Defensive driving certification
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid driver’s license
