Summary
Work with a crew in the maintenance of City sidewalk, and other concrete structures. Perform manual labor tasks and any other work related to concrete maintenance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist a crew in the installation and maintenance of City sidewalks, curb, and gutter, along with other concrete structures.
- Use hand tools and equipment associated with construction and maintenance work such as shovels, sledgehammer, tape measures and other construction tools used in concrete maintenance.
- Set up forms and prepare sites for concrete.
- Set out cones, signs, and other traffic control devices needed at worksites to ensure safety.

- Performs miscellaneous duties such as working on a crew, inspecting vehicles and equipment
- Follow the City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Assists other crews and performs other duties as assigned:
- Crack sealing of streets: Performs tasks to seal cracks on City streets
- Street and traffic signs: Constructs street and traffic signs, installs and/or replaces signs, constructs and paints barricades
- Right of way: Assists with responding to calls received by the Streets Division, Assists crew in the installation and maintenance of pavement markings in the City, in according with TMUTCD, Mows and cleans alley ways and right of ways
- Forestry Crew: Trimming and removal of vegetation in and along City Right of Way
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in operation of construction equipment and vehicles
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid Class C Driver’s License
