Position: Field Training Facilitator 

 

Hours of Work:

Full-time, Exempt

In This Role, You Will… 

Focus on developing and leading Mariner Finance’s sales focused training programs. You will be accountable for providing a comprehensive operational knowledge of the business, departmental tools, and training materials used in support of Mariner’s Sales Training Initiatives. You will lead training workshops related to lending, collections, loan origination, and servicing system functions. In this role, individuals as directed may assist the L&D AVP (or other Learning and Development leadership) in the development of team members’ skills and departmental experience. You will be required to travel up to 75% of the time to provide service to this role’s assigned company locations.



Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Accountable for providing applicable training in various areas, including, but not limited to: auto secured sales, the offering of optional products (credit and non-credit), loan by mail and sales finance conversions, recognition of sales opportunities, mentoring and support services throughout Mariner’s branch network, and compliance related to Mariner’s applicable policies and procedures.
  • Recommend and prepare materials in conjunction with the Instructional Design Team for new or existing training courses, which may include creating training presentations, job aids, workflows, and related documentation.
  • Prepare, assemble, evaluate, and revise curriculum materials as requested to meet the employees’ needs.
  • Organize and lead individual, small, and large groups and online training sessions covering different topics from the program curriculum for the branch network and company headquarters personnel.
  • Work with the Instructional Design Team, help determine appropriate blend of learning approaches to create and deliver best-in-class learning.
  • Identify skillsets and knowledge gaps related to the sales process during trainings and collaborates with hiring managers to implement effective and compliant strategies and close learning gaps.  
  • Complete projects, prioritize tasks, and provide frequent progress reports with limited direction from management and team leads based on company needs.
  • Conduct or lead “special projects” in support of the business and branch personnel requiring advanced knowledge of operations, policy, and procedure with the ability to independently assess and adjust training plans.
  • Conduct program tracking, analysis, and reporting and implementation of processes and/or improvements to ensure successful and sustainable deployment of curriculum as well as appropriate training objectives.
  • Ensure training content and delivery are aligned with Mariner Finance’s Policy and Procedures, strategic company goals, vision statement, and mission statement.
  • Assist with development of FTFIs, including onboarding, demonstration of training tools and curriculums, and document review.  
  • Handle problems and/or situations that are difficult and sometimes complex in nature as they relate to training facilitation or curriculum development.
  • Act in a peer mentor capacity to promote the culture, vision, and mission of Mariner Finance Learning and Development.
  • Demonstrate superior facilitation skills in both VILT and face-to-face delivery and the ability to mentor peers in development of their facilitation skillset.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding employee level of engagement.
  • May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business Administration, Education, Instructional Design, etc.) Additional years of experience may be substituted for education
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to attain certification on facilitation curriculum achieved through corresponding train-the-trainer courses.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle travel requirements to service the entire company. Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the loan origination and servicing systems, lending, collecting, policies, and procedures of a branch and Human Resources compliance is required.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal consumer finance requirements and applicable law for all states.
  • Ability to contribute to a team atmosphere, build morale, and facilitate group commitment to goals and objectives.
  • Ability to support all team members’ success and ability to gain the trust of others, work ethically and uphold organizational values.
  • Must have ability to work with little to no supervision and be able to independently determine tasks to complete on a daily basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience in consumer finance, sales, sales trainer, and/or similar role
  • Experience coaching management in sales skills

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to move about. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation: $60,700- $89,800 (commensurate with experience) + Bonus
