OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE 

As a Cloud Migration Architect, you will be responsible for developing and executing cloud migration strategies for our clients' complex IT environments. Leveraging your expertise in cloud technologies and best practices, you will design and implement robust migration plans, ensuring minimal disruption to operations while optimizing performance, security, and scalability.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE: 

  • Lead the assessment of current IT infrastructure, identifying migration opportunities to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Design and develop comprehensive migration strategies tailored to specific client needs, ensuring a smooth transition to the cloud.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the migration lifecycle.
  • Architect scalable and secure cloud solutions, integrating high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Develop migration roadmaps, timelines, and documentation, ensuring adherence to project goals and timelines.
  • Implement best practices for infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, and orchestration tools to streamline migration processes.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services, tools, and technologies based on client requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud migration.

 

WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:  

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • 10 years of experience in cloud engineering or a related role. 
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with associated services. 
  • Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, networking, and security best practices. 
  • Solid knowledge of security, compliance, and governance principles in cloud environments.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation). 
  • Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator) are a plus. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
