Procurement - Quality Manager

Title:    Supplier Quality Manager

Summary: The Supplier Quality Manager performs various tasks in Supplier Development to assist the Supply Chain Strategy of the organization. They are in close interaction with MAN ES internal supplier quality Team and act as a liaison with European Headquarters to ensure suppliers performance in accordance with MAN rules and guidelines.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Qualification, Inspections and product-related development of suppliers
• Definition, implementation and follow-up of appropriate measures to ensure positive supplier development
• Planning, coordination, supervision and quality assurance of complex projects
• Review of construction and production drawings as well as customer specifications
• Cooperation with authorities and independent organizations, inspection companies, notified bodies
• Interdisciplinary and cross-site cooperation with procurement, quality, engineering, materials technology, manufacturing as well as the company’s global interfaces
• Definition, implementation and follow-up of appropriate measures to ensure positive supplier development
• Deep knowledge in quality documentation
• Support / development / training of the local organizations with regard to the above-mentioned disciplines

Required Education:  Bachelor’s degree with a technical major, preferably Mechanical Engineering

Required Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience in machinery, plant engineering, preferably turbomachinery projects as well as welding technology
• 5+ years’ experience in Quality methods

Desired Education & Experience:

• Master’s degree with a technical major, preferably mechanical engineering
• Substantial knowledge and experience in leading Audits, 3rd. party exam as Lead Auditor
• NDT certification (RT, VT, PT, UT, MT according to ISO 9712, ASME V or ASNT), min. level 2

Required 3^rd party Certifications/Qualifications:

Other skills:

• Knowledge of welding technology a plus
• Knowledge of general regulations and standards (e.g. ASME IV, ASME VIII, ASME IX, ASME 31.1 and 31.3, ISO 3834, ISO 14731, ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
• Knowledge in the field of quality management and confident application of appropriate Quality methods
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP
• Good self-management and organizational skills
• Proficiency in writing
• Good verbal communication
• Good interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements: (International) Travel to industrial production plants, construction sites and manufacturing facilities which may be located in harsh climates and environments.
