POSITION PURPOSE:

The Manager, Field Operations Training plays a pivotal role in ensuring comprehensive and effective field training across all levels within the company enabling team members to deliver exceptional service, maintain high standards, and promote our brand’s reputation. This role works closely with restaurant managers, internal and franchisee partners, and team members to develop and implement training programs, monitor performance, and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct training sessions for various field positions, including coaching and developing Certified Training Restaurants (CTRs) and Certified Training General Managers (GTMs).
  • Provide training for new and existing franchise operators, including training support for new market franchise restaurant openings as needed
  • Facilitates transition meetings with SLIT’s, MITs, the GTM, and Area Leader at the conclusion of their training.
  • Manage the CTR program, regularly assessing, auditing, and evaluating the program’s effectiveness; and making recommendations for improvement, as needed to ensure proper execution of EPL management training programs
  • Support GTMs to improve the quality of training provided to trainees in training restaurants. Observes and evaluates training programs and the tools utilized during training.
  • Collaborate with Training and Operations teams to design and develop effective training programs for new and existing team members.
  • Support company rollout of new programs, ensuring that new program training is well executed at the restaurant level.
  • Consult with Operations leaders to identify skill gaps, develop and deliver leadership training classes or other workshops.
  • Create training materials, manuals, and visual aids, as needed, to ensure proper alignment of training programs with EPL standards and program/project objectives.
  • Participates in eLearning scripts, video shoots, pamphlets, knowledge assessments and follow up of program execution.
  • Stays current on all industry trends and best practices, including El Pollo Loco operating, training procedures and programs.
  • Meets regularly with the Director, Training to stay informed on new programs and to communicate field training needs and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure all training programs meet safety, hygiene, and legal compliance standards. Maintain accurate records of training activities and team member progress.
  • Other activities, duties or responsibilities that are assigned by your supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

Education/Work Experience:

High School diploma is required. BA/BS in Business Administration is preferred. One to two years of field training experience with 2-3 years of Operations experience is required.

License/Certifications:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • A ServSafe license is required


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to conduct training sessions utilizing a variety of training methods, including classroom training, on-the-job coaching, and e-learning modules.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset and skills; meticulous attention to detail
  • Confidence in execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Must be decisive and able to make fact-based decisions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external business partners.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work assignments and work under pressure of frequent and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret complex reports, documents, and correspondence.
  • High level of proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office Suite applications, Adobe Acrobat, customized database applications, and internet research tools.
  • Adept at managing and prioritizing competing time sensitive requests while working well in a team atmosphere that may be under pressure.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of significance to the company.
  • Ability to work weekends and extended work schedules as needed.
  • Must be willing and able to travel locally within Southern California and to out-of-state restaurant locations, as needed by car or airplane.

The pay range identified is the hourly or salary rate El Pollo Loco expects to pay for the posted
position. This range does not include any benefits or bonus opportunities that might be available for the position based on position and eligibility criteria. Individual pay will vary based on a variety of factors including years of experience, industry experience, education, geography, etc.
