Shop Technician

Levitt-Safety has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a SHOP TECHNCIAN in our Sudbury branch.

Summary

Levitt-Safety is actively seeking a Shop Technician to specialize in Fire Services, focusing on training and carrying out inspections and maintenance of fire extinguishers, as well as Fire and Life safety equipment. This role will primarily involve 80% of the time dedicated to performing duties within the shop, 15% assisting in delivering mobile service on customer sites, and 5% handling other necessary responsibilities. The position caters to our customer base in Sudbury and Northwestern Ontario.

We are willing to train the right candidate who is willing to grow and pursue a career in fire and life protection services.
 

Duties & Responsibilities

•  Train to perform Hydro-Testing of both low and high pressure extinguishers and cylinders as required
• Filling and repairing extinguishers and cylinders as needed
• Maintaining shop equipment and working with the Service Supervisor for repairs as needed
• Ensuring safe use of all shop tools and equipment including use of company service vehicle
• Timely and accurate completion and submission of paperwork
• Participate in mandatory safety training and industry certifications
• Provide warranty repair and service as necessary
• Provide field assistance to outside technicians as required
• Fit Testing services both in house and at customer sites as required
• Pickup and delivery of service work and completed jobs as required
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a shop environment, an asset
• Mechanical aptitude with a background in troubleshooting equipment is ideal
• Previous experience communicating with customers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good computer skills
• Clean drivers abstract
