Levitt-Safety has an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician to join our team as a Field Service Technician in Winnipeg, MB.
 

This role will be based out of our Winnipeg branch, however, will involve travel to customer sites for diverse maintenance and repair activities.

Main Responsibilities
 

·       Provide services as a technician to all existing customers promptly and efficiently

·       Inspect, maintain and service SCBAs, breathing air compressors, vehicle fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and fire life and safety equipment 

·       Provide in-house and mobile service work

·       On-site and in-house fit testing and fall protection inspections

·       Vehicle fire suppression maintenance and repairs on multiple brands      (Ansul, Kidde, Fogmaker, Amerex)

·     Work closely with the service coordinator to schedule service work and maintain inventory levels 

·       Maintain service vehicle, inventory and tooling

·       Complete all applicable health and safety paperwork associated with company policies and ISO procedures.

·       Accurate and timely completion or paperwork

·       Perform after-hour call-outs as required

·       Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience with breathing air equipment (SCBAs, hydro testing, compressors etc.)
  • Experience working in a mechanical shop or equivalent hands-on role with vehicles or other motorized equipment
  • Basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude with experience working with power and hand tools
  • Experience with fire suppression systems (vehicle fire suppression, extinguishers) is a strong asset
  • Comfortable working in underground mining operations
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driver's abstract
  • Prior customer service experience and great communication skills
  • Able to work with technology and mobile devices

 

Physical Safety Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, coupled with good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Physically able to work in restricted workspaces, including using ladders and walkways on large equipment
  • Able to pass pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol testing as well as criminal background checks
  • Physically able to work in restricted or confined workspaces, including using ladders and walkways on large equipment
  • Able to work wearing a supplied air respirator for extended periods
