BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

Lead, direct, and manage a team of Regional Sales Managers within an assigned district to achieve wholesale/retail sales objectives, increase market share, and protect Company assets.  

 

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:  This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:

 

  • Lead, guide, direct, and monitor assigned Regional Sales Managers (RSM’s) in:
    • Sales Operations - including (but not limited to) dealer development, dealer terminations, attainment of sales objectives, and sales and finance program promotions.
    • Inventory - Forecast, allocate, and distribute inventory to RSM’s to ensure dealers receive sufficient inventory to sell commensurate with product availability.
    • Performance - Recruiting, motivating, distributing and reviewing work, and managing performance.
  • Support Dealership Business Needs & Relationships:
    • Visit key dealers with RSM’s to increase Kubota’s representation and build strong relationships with dealers.
    • Monitor dealer activity and address low performing dealers by working to improve retail sales and market share or by terminating dealer contracts as necessary.
    • Assist dealers and customers through phone calls and emails, providing information and resolving issues, as required to maintain high levels of customer and dealer satisfaction.
  • Provide input for department sales budget and manage resources within budget constraints.
  • Communicate market conditions and trends to corporate office, enabling strategy changes and/or the development of new programs, to keep the Company in a competitive position.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, or another related field.  (Master’s in Business Administration is preferred.)
  • Experience: 8 years of related experience in sales management, marketing, or account development, preferably in the heavy equipment and/or ag-equipment industry.
  • Ability to effectively lead and motivate team to achieve assigned goals.
  • Knowledge of farm/agriculture equipment industry.
  • Excellent customer relation skills, as well as effective sales and negotiation skills.
  • Fundamental business skills including accounting, distribution/logistics, and sales and marketing techniques.
  • Proficiency using a Microsoft Excel, Word, SAP, and the ability to learn and use other software applications.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Typical office environment.  The position will require walking, standing and sitting at a computer.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 30 – 40% travel required.
