BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
Responsible for financial reporting, modeling, and analytics to help drive business decisions.  Provide financial analysis for a financial function or a business, exercising a strong understanding of the business to determine the best method for achieving objectives.  This position will require an analytical mind, the ability to communicate complex ideas, and the personality to be able to work collaboratively with team members from multiple functions.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:  This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:

• Play a key role in building the Company’s annual business plan and forecasts, including consolidation, review, and presentation which requires extensive collaboration with applicable functional leaders across the business
• Identify and research variances between actuals and plan, prepare clear written explanations including opportunities for improvement
• Create ROI and various other models to help in key business decisions for growth and investment
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization
• Assist with executive-level presentations and reports that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to be made
• Provide clarity and structure for business partners' departments, ensuring high confidence and data integrity
• Support capital expenditure analytics, planning and governance, including: timely closure of projects and transfer of costs to Fixed Assets; monitoring and identifying and resolving issues with actuals costs, miscoded invoices or missing goods receipts.
• Partner with Accounting to provide input to monthly and quarterly financial close process; propose and implement changes to process to increase accuracy and efficiency
• Translate accounting terms, concepts, and implications to functional departments
• Assist with implementing and maintaining a new budgeting system
• Evaluate and recommend opportunities for process improvement and standardization of tasks, reports, and outputs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

EXPERIENCE:

• 1-3 years of general accounting and financial analysis and planning experience
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/quarter-end/year-end close process
  

KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and general accounting processes

TECHNOLOGY: Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.  SAP experience desired, but not required

EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Office equipment including computer, copier, phone, printer

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Typical office environment and will require walking, standing and sitting in front of a computer
