 Job Description:

We are seeking a creative and experienced Pastry Supervisor with administration responsibilities to help lead our pastry department. The ideal candidate is someone who is deeply passionate about pastry arts, has a keen eye for detail, and a strong background in creating exquisite desserts and pastries. As a Pastry Supervisor, you will work closely with our Executive Pastry Chef to oversee the production of high-quality desserts, bread, cakes and pastries.

 Expectations & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef to plan and execute dessert menus.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pastry department, including managing a team of pastry cooks.
• Train and mentor junior pastry staff to ensure consistency and excellence in execution.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Contribute to maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
• All other duties, as assigned.

 Administrative Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records of recipe development, and ingredient usage.
• Work with department heads to set production, sales, and labor goals.
• Implement and maintain kitchen policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Pastry Supervisor or similar role in a high-end restaurant or pastry shop.
• Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, dessert presentation, and baking.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Banquets experienced preferred.
• A passion for delivering exceptional pastry experiences to guests.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow recipes, to increase or decrease recipe as needed.
• Ensure that kitchen equipment is in working order and is properly used.
• Maintain reports of department waste.

 Essential Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for the entirety of a shift.
• Ability to reach, bend and stoop frequently.
• Must be able to carry 50 lbs. about ten times per shift over a medium distance.
• Must be able to handle manual labor via whisking, chopping, piping, and repetitive hand movements.
