Assistant Restaurants Manager (Contract)

The Granite Club is hiring an Assistant Restaurants Manager on a 6 month Contract, who will be a key contributor to the effective running of the various dining rooms and bars within the F&B operation.  They will lead, mentor, and develop line staff while ensuring that each Member’s dining experience meets their expectations by providing a superior level of service and by actively touching tables to ensure that any issues are resolved immediately.  They will also be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of administrative duties.

Primary Responsibilities

• Actively involved in running the floor by being hands on in all facets of the restaurant.
• Build and maintain relationships with Members, staff, and management alike.
• Contribute to the culture of Member service by demonstrating superior hospitality skills.
• Coordinate the timely delivery of beverage and food service during all meal periods.
• Use problem solving skills to ensure a high level of Member satisfaction.
• Inspects all the restaurant areas for cleanliness prior to service and report any deficiencies.
• Responsible for staff scheduling, holiday management and payroll.
• Aid in the recruitment, training, and performance review of line staff.
• Handles and reports all comments, compliments and complaints from both Members and staff.
• Ability to carry out all opening and closing duties of the restaurant.
• Assists senior managers during the budgetary process.

Required Qualifications

• 3 years restaurant related experience; previous experience in top quality dining room an asset.
• Superior communication and people skills with the ability to quickly develop relationships.
• Possess a polished presence and an outgoing personality.
• Capable of handling pressure and the ability to adapt to new situations.
• Thorough knowledge of upscale service standards.
• Good understating off wine, beer and cocktails.
• Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization skills with the ability to handle and large and varied workload.
• Understanding all policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and specifications.
• Previous experience within a unionized environment is an asset. 
• Smart Serve certified.
• Proficiency with POS and Microsoft Office products.

Work Schedule

• Must be available to work weekends, weekdays and/or holidays, AM and PM.
