The Granite Club is looking for committedreliable, and highly motivated Math Tutors who are able to support students one-on-one at the Granite Club.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Providing one-on-one lessons to students between Grade 7- 12
  • Provide homework help, test/exam preparation and provide enrichment to our students of intermediate grade levels
  • Being energetic and creative while teaching new concepts to students
  • Provide occasional feedback to parents
  • Participates in staff meetings and job related training
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized learning environment on a daily basis

Required Qualifications

  • Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT) preferred, but will consider retired teachers/tutors with excellent teaching approaches and 3+ years of successful experience tutoring or teaching related to the Ontario Education Curriculum.
  • Previous experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, etc) is a plus.
  • Caring, energetic and confident personality
  • Strong English language written and oral communication skills (French qualifications an asset)
  • Exceptional knowledge in Ontario math curriculum for Grades 7 - 12
  • Love working with all age groups
  • Ability to professionally interact with students and parents
  • Enjoys working in a team environment
  • Previous experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, etc.)
  • First Aid and CPR Level C certification required.
  • Up to date immunization record
  • Well- developed interpersonal and relationship building skills. 
  • Available to begin at 4 p.m. Monday to Thursday evenings plus Saturday and Sunday mornings (May change according to students availability).
  • Must be available during all stat holidays
