Certified Nursing Aide

The Virginia Eye Institute (VEI) is hiring!  VEI is a large and dynamic practice of ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Richmond, VA area.

We are searching for a Certified Nursing Aide to join our busy practice. 

Under direct supervision of a registered nurse, provides clinical support services to patient care staff by performing a variety of duties related to patient care. Takes patient vital signs, inventories and replenishes supplies and equipment, and performs special assigned duties.  The CNA assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the CNA’s skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The CNA complies with all ASC policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing scope of practice for Certified Nursing Aide

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to nursing staff.

• Ensure a clean and safe patient environment, equipped with adequate supplies for each patient.
• Effectively turn rooms by cleaning and disinfecting equipment between patients.
• Participate in continuing education through in-services and other programs.
• Move stretchers to fill open rooms in preparation for next patient/make stretchers

• Carry out other duties as assigned.
