Position Title: Certified Dental Assistant (certification preferred but not necessary)

Reports to: CODE Office Manager

Wage Grid: negotiable (based on experience)

Hours/Week: 24-35 Hours per week (schedule and days to be negotiated)

  

Program Description:

Code Dental Clinic is a non-profit dental clinic that provides extractions and restorative procedures at half the cost of a regular clinic. We are a specialized practice providing top notch dental care services to a diverse clientele in Nanaimo, BC.  The clinic is located at unit 201 – 489 Wallace St, Nanaimo.

Summary of Position:

We are looking for a full-time or part-time Dental Assistant (certification preferred but not necessary) to join our team at the CODE clinic in downtown Nanaimo. The schedule is three to five days per week, some weekends are required (schedule will be negotiated). Dental Assistant experience is preferred but we are willing to train.  This position offers the opportunity to work in a rewarding environment that has a great work culture.

Qualifications:

  1. Dental Assisting for one year (Preferred, but willing to train)
  2. License or certification: not required but preferred.

 

Working Challenges:

When working with a vulnerable population, there can be exposure to adverse environmental working conditions. These can include verbal and physical aggression, which require safety precautions and a calm perspective in approaching the situation. Although there are challenges involved with this role, guidelines and policies are in place to support the employee in the workplace.
