ROLE PURPOSE

This position will provide support services and a continuum of innovative housing opportunities and is aimed at assisting individuals experiencing inadequate housing arrangements to maintain stable market housing in the community and further develop healthy life skills. This work involves working closely with a variety of service users, multi-sector partners, private landlords and Connective’s Rent Subsidy Outreach Workers and Property Services Team.

 

STATUS AND CLASSIFICATION
Exempt. This position is open to applicants of all genders.

 

SHIFT HOURS

Full Time- 40 hours Sunday through Thursday (Hours may vary)

REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports and is accountable to the Manager of Property Services or their designate
  • Participates as a member of Connective’s management
  • Liaises with the staff, management, and members in communities as necessary

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manages the Rent Subsidy Outreach Workers within the Property Services Team
  • Optimizes and manages all tenancy related systems (RTA processes and timelines)
  • Oversee and foster effective tenancy relationships and good neighbor standards
  • Work within the Residential Tenancy Act and demonstrates strong understanding of terminology
  • Assist tenants with understanding tenancy agreements and tenant responsibilities
  • Develop and monitor tracking for chronological housing reports
  • Maintain client electronic files on CAMS system, including statement of goals, case plans, progress summary, contact notes & discharges
  • Effectively utilize various agency systems and technology platforms
  • Participates in scheduled staff, team and community meetings as directed
  • Participate in HR and Labour Relations issues with program staff
  • Any other duties as assigned

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Function independently, while remaining a crucial member of the Connective team
  • Adhere to Connective’s policies and procedures
  • Available to contribute to Management after hours on call support rotation

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree, diploma and/or certificate in a relevant discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience in property management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience working within a union environment, in depth knowledge and application of the collective agreement
  • Flexibility to travel within the Interior of BC
  • Ability to manage and coordinate a work team across regions

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check
  • Ability to successfully pass a reference check
  • Ability to participate in an after-hours emergency on call rotation
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
  • Emergency First Aid certificate
  • Mental health and substance use experience
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or Mandt Certificate on relational skills
  • Familiarity with Indigenous cultural supports
  • Flexibility to travel within the interior of BC
  • Ability to supervise a remote team

 

Important: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada, observe their weekly hours limit if under a temporary or study visa, and provide proof of eligibility if selected for the role.
