Operator Trainee

Our Conway, NC Chemical Facility is seeking qualified individuals to join our manufacturing team as an Operator Trainee. The Operator Trainee role is an entry level position with opportunity for advancement up to Operator, Technician and Supervisory level positions. These positions create value by supporting operators in production in order to meet the facility's production goals and by creating a safe work environment for all employees.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn and demonstrate an understanding of plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished goods in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrate good work ethic, communication skills and team building characteristics.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working safely at all times and ensuring those around you are also working safely.
  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
  • Willing and able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, stooping)
  • Willing and able to wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (chemical suit, respirator, safety glasses, face shield, ear plugs, hard hat, steel toe shoes/boots, etc.)
  • Willing and able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in hot or cold weather conditions.
  • Willing and able to be clean shaven for respirator fit.
  • Willing and able to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Willing and able to work variable start times,12 hour rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime (as scheduled)
  • Willing and able to work on call hours (as scheduled).
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.
  • Willing and able to work safely with chemicals and chemical processes.
  • Math skills – ability to perform basic calculations.
  • Ability to work with computerized systems.

 

 PREFERRED:

  • One year of manufacturing or industrial experience.
  • Mechanical skills.
  • Previous experience in chemical or related industry.
