POSITION SUMMARY

Perform various operations procedures and tasks as required for chemical processes.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primary Functions

  • Reactor Process/Packaging
  • Assist reactor operators in manual raw material additions.
  • Assist reactor operators package finished product from reactors/finished product storage tanks into shipping containers.
  • Prepare various finished product and raw materials cold blends.
  • Perform required inspections and chemical tests of products, process and equipment per procedure.

Other Functions

  • Operate automated centrifuging process.
  • Operate Delta V computer-controlled methanol recovery process
  • Stage raw materials and packaging containers for chemical process.
  • Loading/unloading of finished product and raw materials from tank trucks.
  • Handle HF (hydrofloric acid)
  • Perform cycle counting activities.
  • Perform simple mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment.
  • Perform weekly safety shower inspections.
  • Train on reactor process when feasible.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

REQUIREMENTS
Job Qualifications and Experience

  • 2 years chemical plant background
  • HazMat certified or ability to obtain certification by they next training opportunity

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Special Needs/Skills/Other

  • Team player work ethic
  • Aptitude to understand technical concepts
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills and aptitude
  • Medically qualified to wear a respirator

Physical

  • Sitting, carrying, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing, climbing (ladders of various heights), lifting of 55 lbs. repeatedly. Ability to wear a respirator.

Aptitudes

  • Must possess the ability to understand the meaning of words and their ideas, as well as instructions and their underlying principles. Perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately, and possess eye-hand motor coordination. Aptitude to understand technical concepts.

  • Must have the ability to accept responsibility, perform duties under stress, adapt to situations requiring preciseness, and adapt to changing duties and responsibilities. Must be able to adapt to situations involving the interpretation of feelings, ideas, or facts; be able to influence people in the opinions, attitudes, or judgments; and be able to generalize, evaluate, make decisions, and perform repetitive work.
