Purpose of Position:  The Service Manager is responsible for all aspects of business operations for the 
Service Department and improving sales results through the satisfaction and retention of customers. 

Supervises:  Manages subordinate supervisors. Is responsible for the overall directions, coordination’s, 
and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises non-supervisory employees. Carries out 
supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. 
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing 
work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and 
resolving problems. 

Essential Job Functions: 
• Prepares Service Department sales and expense forecast for budgeting purposes. 
• Responsible for maintenance oversight of the department shop, vehicles, tools, and equipment. 
• Ensures that all customer interaction is handled in a courteous, professional manner. 
• Maintains a professional relationship with all vendors and factory personnel wo represent the 
manufacturer. 
• Adheres to environmental requirements and safety programs. 
• Effectively communicates, orally and written, ideas and solutions to subordinates and 
customers. 
• Monitors and adjusts work flow processes. 
• Settles customer and employee disputes. 
• Ensures company policies are followed. 

Required Skills/ Abilities: 
• Should have a through understanding of the mechanical makeup of the equipment the company 
services. 
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, 
technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals. 
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, 
clients, customers, and the general public. 
• Must have basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft Office applications. 
• Should have proficiency in our business operating system. 

Preferred Education: 
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 
Preferred Experience: 
• One to three years related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education 
and experience 
Other Preferred Qualifications:  
• CDL Drivers License
