Agrologist - Applicant Pool for Various Saskatchewan Locations
SAMA is the recognized leader and authority on property assessment, and Saskatchewan's service provider of choice. SAMA develops, regulates, and delivers a stable, cost-effective assessment system that is accurate, up-to-date, universal, equitable and understandable.
This competition will establish an Applicant Pool which will be used to fill Agrologist positions that become vacant throughout any of our seven locations in Saskatchewan for a period of six (6) months. In your application, please identify your location(s) of interest from the following regional offices: Melfort, North Battleford, Regina, Saskatoon, Swift Current, Weyburn, and/or Yorkton.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will join SAMA’s Assessment Services Division in this full-time position and can expect to be working in both a field and office environment. Typical responsibilities of an Appraisal Agrologist will include:
- Collecting property assessment information through physical inspections of residential, commercial and agricultural land;
- Applying recognized valuation approaches to determine the assessed value of the properties;
- Inputting valuation data into the Agency's mass appraisal computer system;
- Researching and responding to enquiries from ratepayers and municipal administration.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan or other recognized university with a major in Soil Sciences, Agronomy, or Agricultural Economics.
- Registered or eligible for registration as an Articling Agrologist or Professional Agrologist with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists (SIA).
- Excellent public relations and communication skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment to make sound decisions.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid class five (5) driver’s licence.

Candidates under consideration may be required to participate in a numeracy, mathematical, and/or computer proficiency assessment to determine position suitability.
For external candidates, employment with the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal record check.

Salary: $2,362 - $3,550 bi-weekly. Salary will be based on education and experience.
