Converters - Assembly Team Member Overview:

As a Converter Team Member, you are responsible for the remanufacturing of various torque converter components.

 What you’ll need to do: 

Stator Build

• Install small springs, rollers, and race into the converter stator.

Final Assembly

• Assemble the torque converter.
• Prep torque converter for welding.

Piston bonding

• Prep the converter piston for use.
• Utilize a lathe to remove lock up lining.
• Use a grit blaster to etch the piston surface.
• Install new lock up lining.
• Insert piston into a bonding oven to bake.

What it helps to have:

• Ability to work at a fast pace.
• Good hand dexterity.
• Comfortable using measuring instruments including height gauge, calipers and feeling gauges.
• Comfortable using hand tools including hammers, drivers, and press.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Ability to follow a standardized process to adhere to quality standards.
• Effective communication skills.
