Position Summary
The loader or log loader operator is responsible for shipping, receiving, loading and unloading production carts. General loader work within the yard/plant.
Shift: Day shift Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm - may be asked to work an afternoon shift.
Responsibilities
- Loads and unloads tractor trailers and production carts.
- Move product in inventory to various locations throughout the yard and/or plant.
- Safe and responsible operation of company equipment at all times.
- Performs daily inspections of mobile equipment and reports any deficiencies.
- Counts and verifies tractor trailers loads and production carts loads.
- Abides to OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) workplace health and safety standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of related experience.
- Forklift license, an asset.
- Proficiency in English.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Time and stress management.
- Attention to detail.
- Safe mobile equipment operations.
- Ability to perform the tasks without causing damage to product or equipment.
- Ability to work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments.
- Basic Math Skills.
