We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data management specialist to join our team as part of our centralized dynamic master data governance team at Stella-Jones. As a Data management specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of our organization's master data within mainly our SAP S4/HANA system. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and efficient data management within Stella-Jones environment.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage and maintain master data objects within SAP, including but not limited to material master, vendor master, customer master, and financial master data.
  • Provide guidance and effective instructions to requesters on forms and selection of master data values.
  • Participate developing and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Analyze existing data quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve data accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define data requirements and provide guidance on data management best practices.
  • Conduct data audits and monitor data quality metrics to identify areas for improvement and proactively address data-related issues.
  • Perform data cleansing and enrichment activities to improve the overall quality of master data.
  • Support SAP rollout project and special projects by providing expertise in master data governance and assisting with data migration activities.
  • Provide end-user training and support to ensure proper understanding and utilization of master data governance processes and tools.  Host trainings to small groups when needed.
  • Stay updated with the latest SAP functionalities and industry trends in master data management to suggest and implement continuous improvements.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Manufacturing /Supply Chain, computer science, commerce, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education

  • 1-2 years experience experience required

  • SAP Knowledge: A strong understanding of SAP software is essential, including proficiency in SAP modules relevant to master data management, SAP Material Master, SAP Business partners.
  • Data Management: Experience in data management principles, data quality management, data governance, data cleansing, and data integration.
  • Master Data Maintenance: Demonstrated experience in creating, updating, and maintaining master data records within the SAP system accurately and efficiently.
  • Business Processes: Familiarity with relevant business processes and how master data supports those processes. This may include supply chain management, production, finance, sales, and other functional areas.
  • Data Analysis Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret data to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Problem-Solving: Capability to troubleshoot and resolve master data-related issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and management to gather requirements, resolve data-related issues, and implement changes.
  • Data Security and Compliance: Awareness of data security protocols and compliance with data protection regulations, especially concerning sensitive information.
  • Time Management: Experience in managing master data-related short initiatives, such as data migration, data cleansing initiatives, and process improvement projects.
  • Continuous Improvement: A mindset of continuous improvement to enhance master data processes and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience of an ERP implementation cycle, Tier 1 preferred
  • Experience in developing training material & delivering training courses to end users.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Comfortable with technologies in general (Microsoft office Suite, Sharepoint, Conferencing, SAP

  • Ability to evaluate current business processes and propose, test, and implement new processes to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Willing to support rollout across multiple sites and locations across US and Canada.
