JOB TITLE:                               Maintenance Technician                           

SHIFT:                                     7p.m. – 7 a.m. Two Week Rotation (Week 1 - Sun, Wed, Thurs         Week   2 –  Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat)

DEPARTMENT:                     Maintenance                           

REPORTS TO:                        Maintenance Manager

COMPENSATION RANGE:  Starting Annual Pay $45,760 - $57,200 + Overtime

                                                  Up to $64,000 after 12 months + OT and bonus

 

JOB SUMMARY:

                                                       

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL TASKS & DUTIES: 

  • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and buildings.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical problems. Observes machines in operation and uses diagnostic skills to locate and make repairs.
  • Conducts equipment repairs in a timely manner in order to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Performs light fabrication and welding as needed.
  • Moves and installs machines and related equipment.
  • Maintains building and related systems as required.
  • Monitors the use of inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment hardware to maintain cost.
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipates and solves problems in a timely manner, and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

  • Maintains good housekeeping.
  • Follows all company and customer safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Responds to change productively.
  • Handles other duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education & Experience:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED and five or more years maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Required Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Good computer skills

 

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working with the following:
    • Overhead cranes
    • Industrial Furnaces
    • I&C experience
