Reporting to the foreman, our painters must ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant safety regulations and company policies. They will follow project specifications and timelines, working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines. Effective communication with supervisors and team members is essential to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.

 

Your Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting, and steam-cleaning as necessary.
  • Remove old wallpaper and loose paint using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Repair cracks and holes in walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using spackle, putty, and other materials.
  • Sandpaper and apply sealer to surfaces as needed to ensure a smooth and even finish.
  • Read specifications to determine quantities of materials required.
  • Select and mix paint colours, as well as thinning and adjust the consistency of paint to to obtain desired colour and texture.
  • Apply paint to surfaces usingrs, sprayers, or other appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring even coverage and clean edges.
  • Measure, cut and apply wallpaper and fabric to walls
  • Clean and maintain painting equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other tools and materials such as stains, lacquer, enamel, oil, varnish, metal coating or fire retardant.
  • Assemble and erect scaffolding and swing gates
  • Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties
  • Performs other duties as required

 

Requirements:

  • 2 years of working experience as a Painter
  • Respirator Fit Test certification

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms
  • Must be able to climb scaffoldings.
