Project Control Manager - Construction

The Construction division of Northland Properties Corporation is seeking a Project Controls Manager to support our expanding Hotel, Restaurant and Resorts brands.

Reporting directly to the Director of Construction and working closely with Project Managers and senior leaders, the Project Controls will play a pivotal role in our construction operations, being responsible for the following: 

  • Develop, coordinate and implement cost estimating tools inclusive of rates of placement  
  • Develop, coordinate and implement a scheduling system tied to project estimates  
  • Develop, coordinate and implement project tracking and reporting systems  
  • Receive project reports and provide comprehensive analysis for multiple construction projects 
  • Develop project budgets, conduct cost reviews, and provide recommendations for optimizing financial performance. Collaborate with Project Managers to align cost estimates with project goals. 
  • Develop project schedules, monitor timelines and identify potential delays. Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure project schedules align with overall company objectives. 
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, working collaboratively with Project Managers to integrate risk management plans into project execution. 
  • Provide regular reports on project performance to senior management, highlighting key metrics, challenges, and resolutions. Facilitate clear communication between Project Managers and other stakeholders. 
  • Set project reporting in Power BI – D365  
  • Maintain all updates within the D365 system 
  • Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties. 
  • Perform other duties as required  

  

What are we looking for? 

  • At least 5 years of experience in similar roles 
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field 
  • Proven track record successfully managing construction projects in a large construction company
  • Exceptional understanding of building systems, schedules, and budgets
  • Proficiency in project management software like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Good management, attention to detail organizational abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of construction processes, materials, regulations and standards.
  • Positive attitude, high energy, and strong work ethic.
