Nikita Construction is seeking a Construction Project Manager for its new construction projects with Sandman Hotel Groups in Ontario.

What will you be responsible for?

Reporting directly to the Director of New Construction, you will be responsible for providing expert project management for our new buildings projects in Ontario and overseeing and guiding cross-disciplined team members both in the office and on-site. Your key duties will include:

  • Creating, monitoring, and maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Developing, coaching, and mentoring a cohesive self-performing team.
  • Monitoring the change management process relevant to the projects.
  • Ensuring adherence to project frameworks and proper documentation maintenance.
  • Assessing project risks and issues and providing effective solutions.
  • Managing stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Chairing and facilitating meetings as needed and distributing meeting minutes to project team members.
  • Establishing a project management calendar to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Preparing progress reports and communicating schedules to relevant parties.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement process for ongoing and future projects.
  • Cultivating an environment of trust, support, and open information sharing in line with Northland Properties' Purpose and Values.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability among Support Center staff, Operations, and Site Teams.
  • Conducting interviews, making hiring decisions, and overseeing the training and development of Site Leadership and other key personnel.
  • Regularly visiting construction sites to assess performance and quality.
  • Establishing and maintaining a process to assess project performance, and effectively communicating opportunities and challenges to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties.

What are we looking for?

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in new builds, design, and budgeting for hotel and restaurant projects.
  • Proven experience in leadership roles.
  • Knowledge of building systems, schedules, and budgets.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with construction management systems, file management, and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-evolving environment with multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, high energy, good initiative, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
