About the Role: 

We have an exciting role available for a Retail Recruitment Lead to join our Recruitment & People Team, based in Cremorne, Melbourne on a parental leave contract. Reporting to the Group Head of Recruitment your responsibilities will include leading Retail Recruitment across all Accent Group brands. You will explore new sourcing strategies, monitor budgets, and drive key Retail recruitment initiatives throughout the business.

 

You will play a key role in supporting and leading our Retail Recruitment Partners to build strong talent pipelines and ensure targets such as time to fill, new store openings whilst also leading key recruitment projects such as Back to School and Christmas Recruitment. This is a hands-on leadership role and the ideal candidate will come with previous experience in leadership and high volume recruitment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide leadership, consultation, and strategic direction to Retail Recruitment Partners & Coordinators regarding recruiting trends, concerns, and opportunistic hiring possibilities.
  • Provide appropriate and consistent communication with Head of Recruitment, hiring managers, senior leaders, HR business partners, and candidates to ensure transparency and awareness throughout the recruitment process.
  • Keep up to date with Retail industry and key trends to support with weekly and monthly updates to stakeholders.
  • Partner with Head of Recruitment to drive key Retail Recruitment initiatives including but not limited to employer branding, recruiting and strategic initiatives
  • Continuously build new talent pipelines for business-critical and key leadership positions. Maintain regular and consistent contact with top prospects within your talent pipeline regardless of present position availability.
  • Exceed recruiting activity goals for positions filled in addition to the generation of new candidates, new leads, internal referrals, and external referrals.
  • Effectively utilize comprehensive knowledge of Group offerings, benefits, comp strategies, affirmative action programs and recruiting techniques to market the Accent Group as an “Employer of Choice”, and to ensure a strong candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
  • Work with the Group Head of Recruitment to identify and develop strong performers with potential for growth.
  • Providing counsel to Recruitment partners and hiring managers during assessment and evaluation of candidates by acting as the primary closer when negotiating complex offer packages typically including base, bonus, and other company benefits.
  • Own end to end recruitment efforts and processes across a portfolio of brands while supporting wider Retail Recruitment team
  • Lead & drive the end-to-end Recruitment for all volume Recruitment initiatives including Back to School and Christmas Recruitment
  • Be up to date with new store development schedules and timelines.
  • Support the team with career development, conducting regular appraisals whilst motivating, growing, and developing team into high performers
  • Set clear goals and measurement benchmarks for the recruitment team.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the team’s performance.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in high volume recruitment roles within a professional business environment, retail industry preferred.
  • Previous team leadership experience will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with Recruitment / HRIS Systems experience an advantage.
  • Competitive drive, strong work ethic, and motivation to learn, grow and always succeed.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, strong listening skills and a solid business sense.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and the drive to be successful.
  • Proven track-record researching and successfully recruiting senior-level candidates for difficult-to-fill positions using proactive search methods.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to manage and drive key projects while influencing change.
  • Always have a high level of attention to detail and organization
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Confidence in problem solving & resolving issues that arise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HR systems
