About the Role:

Stylerunner, is looking for an experienced Product Developer to join the team responsible for contributing to the development, production, and quality assurance of all Stylerunner product from initial development through to shipment sample. Working closely with the Design & Production teams to execute efficient and timely development that meets both exceptional quality standards and obtains optimal margin. This role will provide a bridge between Production and Design teams as a link that is consistently involved with the product from conception to final sample and drives solid QA processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality product.

Your Key Responsibilities and Duties will include:

Product Development – Development Pipeline

  • Working Closely with Design team & Garment Technician to initiate and execute the development of monthly product ranges. This includes creation of comprehensive tech packs inclusive of CAD, Bill of Materials, specified artworks, Trim, labelling & fabric development. Following through with factory liaising, fabric, lab dip & trim approvals.
  • Managing cross costing /cross sourcing/pricing throughout development pipeline to ensure that product is placed with best factory to achieve highest margin prior to collections being ordered or sold to wholesale market. 
  • Working with agility and flexibility to execute quick changes and constant reviews of collections as informed by business trade and existing product performance.
  • Attending Fittings, updating tech packs accordingly with any fabrication, trim or BOM changes and communicating these to factories.
  • Special Projects – Driving the execution of special projects, category trials and expansions outside apparel i.e. – Footwear & Accessories, small gifts, candles & homeware etc.

Product Development – Post Order Placement

  • Responsible for the accurate updating of all tech pack information (excluding specification sheet) to reflect final comments on samples inclusive of all product details ie. Fabrication, colour, trims, labels, wash, hand feel etc. Ensuring all parts of tech pack are up to date and reflective of what is being requested for bulk production.
  • Working closely with Production team to receive and approve bulk factory submissions after order placement and follow product through to final shipment sample.
  • Attending PP fittings

Quality Control

  • Working closely with suppliers, the Production team, and Design team on all QA matters to ensure the delivery of premium quality products.
  • Working with closely with Garment Technician to build QC / Make standards, policies, and manuals, and ensuring all product adheres to these standards and is quality checked prior to going into bulk production.
  • Risk Assessment – Assessing each collection at order placement to ascertain any identifiable QC risks and executing action plan to mitigate
  • Fabric Testing

 
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Product development of garments, trims and accessories including tech pack and CAD creation
  • Experience with Offshore garment manufacturing, factory communication & price negotiation.
  • Thorough knowledge of garment development and construction, preferably within womenswear.
  • Experience with QA procedures such as fabric testing and pre-production quality checks
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team of Garment techs, Designers and Production manager.
  • High attention to detail & strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to be agile and work reactively to trade results, actioning changes to forward collections in and throughout development pipeline.
  • Passion & genuine interest in women’s clothing with a focus on exceptional quality.
